SO, this weekend I am heading to a wedding in Atlanta, Georgia. If you are anyone close to the horse world, you know it’s Kentucky Derby weekend. Yes, one of the only weekends I actually watch TV or throw a really fun derby party, but not this year. I love weddings, don’t get me wrong, but I’m most likely going to be glued to the derby live stream on my phone. My poor boyfriend probably thinks he’s “dragging me”, but I’m totally going to be the good girlfriend and suck it up, slap on a smile, and slide my iPhone under the table to carefully catch the moments as they come through on social media.
Let’s be honest, it’s one of THE biggest days in sports, so why would you get married on THAT day?! Well, apparently some people think it’s a way to celebrate their “special day”, which is one way to think about it…
Southern Weddings recently shared a “Kentucky Derby Wedding by Elaine Palladino” post, and check out a few of these photos:
From the stamps to the jockey silks-inspired invitations, I’m impressed!
Why not host a “betting party” during your happy hour? *cheers*
Love this shot above, and talk about a FABULOUS ring! *wow*

A derby-style wedding would be the best kind of wedding to go to during the Kentucky Derby weekend… I’m not exactly sure what stye of wedding I’m going to, but one thing is for sure: I’m still wearing a dress that I would wear to the Derby, and I’m still watching the Derby, even if that means sneaking to the bathroom or behind a door 😉
The dress I will be wearing this weekend is part of the Kentucky Derby collection by Vineyard Vines the ‘Horseshoe Patchwork Maxi Dress’:
I’ll keep you posted on instagram, if it turns out to be a Kentucky-Derby inspired wedding this weekend, but until then, Ta Ta!
