The 141st Kentucky Derby did not fail to deliver this year – boasting an attendance with a record crowd of 170,513 and a win by American Pharaoh that gives hope for the first Triple Crown winner since 1978.
But we all know what the crowd really looked forward to seeing this year. Whether sticking to a more classic fashion or worn to put a smile on your face, guests at the Derby certainly did not fail to put a smile on everyone’s faces with their creativity.
The real crowd pleasers were none other than the race’s famous hats – from hats made of horse show ribbons to pink and green flowers, these are our top 10 favorites from this past Kentucky Derby.
Bright, fun, and floral… 3 qualities we love to see in a hat for Kentucky Derby Day.
A quick and easy DIY horseshoe party pompom gem. If you need a last-minute hat for the derby, try this idea.
From the horse show, to the derby! We absolutely love it. Totally #EquestrianStyle worthy.

Turquoise and coral never go out of style. Stunning.
Well, she definitely has been to quite a few Derbies… That, or collects a lot of pins…
Go for the glam in gold and white.
One can never have… Too much Pink! 😉 Especially on “The Oaks” day for Fillies.

Who knew pink Flamingos went to the Derby?
Last but not least, Kentucky’s very own, Miss Kentucky USA in a fabulous Christine A. Moore piece.
Definitely, our TOP favorite!
