1- Black Caviar’s victory
Any horse racing fan cannot remain unimpressed with the talents of Black Caviar, the famous Australian racehorse who earned extraordinary success in her career. She was already famous by the time she entered the 2012 Diamond Jubilee Stakes. With 21 consecutive victories, she was easily the favorite to claim this prestigious race. However, the British Group 1 flat race truly tested her skills that day and the contest didn’t prove as easy as people were expecting.
Back Caviar started the race very well and soon managed to establish a commanding lead. She dominated for the majority of the race but things started to change towards the final stages. Her lead started reducing as other competitors came very close. Suddenly all the spectators were not so confident about the result of this race. But to the delight of Peter Moody, Luke Nolen steered Black Caviar to victory in what became one of the closest contests.
2- Lady Aurelia’s devastating display
The American Thoroughbred racehorse Lady Aurelia proved herself as one of the best fillies in the horse racing world. She looked promising from the very beginning of her career and was regarded as a favorite in just her first race on turf.
It was the 2016 Queen Mary Stakes and her trainer Wesley Ward, who already won this race twice, had a perfect opportunity to claim another victory.
Ridden by Frankie Dettori, Lady Aurelia looked unstoppable that day at Ascot. She began the race strongly and did not slacken her pace throughout the contest. By the time she crossed the finish line, she had established an incredible seven lengths gap with the nearest racehorse. The Racing Post wrote about her victory as “one of the most devastating displays seen in modern times at Royal Ascot.”
The amazing horse then went to France to compete in the Group One Prix Morny and won there as well by a slender margin. The following year, she claimed another big victory at Ascot, and this time she beat the boys at the King’s Stand Stakes. The amazing racehorse made $834, 945 as her earnings. She also received the Cartier Champion two-year-old filly in 2016.
3- Choisir’s memorable win
Choisir was an obscure name in the horse racing world before he competed in the 2003 King’s Stand Stakes. However, his fortunes took a huge turn after that race.
He stunned all the spectators at Royal Ascot by his breathtaking speed. There was no chance for any other competitor as he led from start to finish and easily claimed victory. He went on to win the Golden Jubilee Stakes that same year and also secured the second position in the July Cup.
