Fashion, great food, fast horses, fabulous friends, and a gorgeous sunny day at Stono Ferry Race Course pretty much sums up our favorite event in Charleston, SC each year: The Charleston Cup. Several improvements were made this year to the Charleston Cup, and we were excited to be a part of it.
The Equestrian Stylist homestretch tent at the 2014 Charleston Cup could not have been in a more perfect spot right on the main stretch. Oh, and to top it off… we were the only ones with a *pink* sign! Special thanks to Nathan S. Guthrie with Snyder Events for making our day extra special in pink!
When it comes to steeplechase events, the most important thing is: HAVING FUN! Socializing, wandering, eating, and drinking are all at the top of the list for “cup days”. Both horse people and non, our favorite friends came out to enjoy the Charleston Cup. Fashion on the field was southern-chic and classy, just as we expected. I was thrilled to be wearing an original Christine A. Moore hat. Navy and White were two popular hues (but I had to add a touch of pink!)
The Spike Chalet was the place to be for VIP’s… We absolutely loved it– we even sipped out of equestrian themed champagne flutes! Great food, awesome music, beautiful people, it really doesn’t get much better than this:
Inside the Spike Chalet, the Social Primer Clubhouse was sure a hit… These guys and gals looked stunning in fall colors, leathers, waxed coats, and all American garb. #FashionStatus
Our favorite tunes sung by David Higgins Band kept us jammin’ along all day long in the Spike Chalet.
Everyone usually misses the horses racing at steeplechases, but we were lucky to be on the rail. Trotting from the Spike Chalet to our homestretch tent was the perfect taste of both events: from the infield to the homestretch. Watching the Thoroughbreds galloping past and jump the brush jumps is extremely exciting (and it’s always a thrill to try and pick the winner ahead of time!)
Special thanks to Gregg Lambton-Carr for providing photography for this fantastic day. Take a look at the images from the day below, feel free to share and tag! We’ll see you next year, Charleston Cup! XXO
