Fall is here, and we’re starting to feel the temperatures cool off even here in the southeast United States. Comfortable and chic is the way to go for this Fall / Winter season. We’re loving the new equestrian style functional and fashionable looks from the Goode Rider collection. First, meet this beautiful handsome dappled grey hunter horse named Iceland. He’s truly one of the most handsome horses I’ve ever met. He’s a young horse who came over form Europe to transition from the 1.25M jumpers to the hunter divisions. He will make such a great adult hunter horse. I was champion on him in his first horse show in the low adult hunters at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center out of six other horses. He’s already a star!
Cosy, comfortable, and perfectly chic to wear after the barn pretty much sums up the Goode Rider line. This sweater that I’m wearing is the Goode Rider Posh Polo Sweater, and it comes in four colors grey (pictured), navy, indigo, and black. It’s made of fine Italian Merino wool with a light pink satin print pattern sleeve cuff, trim, and collar detail. I paired it with the stretch Body Sculpting Tights knee patch in the charcoal heather color. These tights feel like yoga pants they are that comfortable! When you ride, you do feel much lighter than you do in regular riding breeches. The boots pictured are custom leather Der Dau dress field boots.
This grey equestrian chic ensemble goes perfectly with Iceland’s silver dapples.
The sweater almost gives an illusion of a shirt underneath, however the lining is just at the cuff and the lower bottom, leaving just the sweater which is very breathable.
Now, meet “Wink”, the light grey large pony in our barn. He’s also quite the handsome guy, and super friendly. For this look, I paired the Goode Rider Boyfriend Shirt with the Goode Rider Vogue Jean Breeches. Another great style to wear with this top are the Couture Breeches.
Another great style to go from the barn to beyond. The shirt has a “princess panel” in a stretch cotton ribbed material that is super soft. This is definitely a piece I will be traveling with often – a true classic. Everything about this shirt I love, and the 3/4 sleeve is also adjustable with a button closure. The stretch denim breeches are also some of the softest jean material I’ve ever felt. Not only can you ride in them, but they are great for date night.
After riding, leave the shirt untucked and put on some leather ankle heeled boots. These are by Two 24 Ariat brand.
We’re looking forward to an exciting Winter horse show season here in Wellington, Florida. Everyday I am at this barn and ride anywhere from 4-7 horses and ponies. My day usually begins around 7:30 AM at the barn on Tuesdays and go through the weekend. If we are showing, Saturdays and Sundays are spent at the horse shows. These ponies and horses have the best life here in Florida. So many people come down here to Wellington from up north, but we’re lucky to live here all year ’round with many months of sunshine and warm weather! But, I will say I do still travel quite a bit, and when I travel, I’m always cold. For some reason they love to keep airplanes at 55 degrees. And, it still can get quite chilly here in Wellington during the evenings in Winter. So, I always love to keep a go-to jacket on hand.
My favorite “go-to” jacket this year is The Calvary Jacket by Goode Rider- it is absolutely fantastic! It also is a great gift for someone that may have it all, because it’s so unique I’ve never seen any other jacket quite like it. It’s a classic. The oilskin tartan hunter green print and rich caramel leather detail gives a traditional equestrian style look. The fit is awesome – it’s very adjustable and long enough to cover your behind in the saddle.
The hood in the back is removable with a faux fur trim. It’s so functional!
There is plenty of room for your keys, wallet, and iPhone in this jacket. I love the zipper details and snap pockets for extra storage.
Wink loves the look too… Some horses tend to love the feeling of oilskin coats for some reason, too… Do you ever notice that?
