While I was at the AETA trade show this past August, I came across a beautiful new high end show apparel line: O’Shaughnessey Apparel. Sara Griot, the owner and designer, created O’Shaughnessey Apparel from her lifetime love of horses and fashion along with her daughter’s inspiration. Sara puts her focus on beautiful fabrics and trims in designing classically styled hunt coats and shirts. Her designs combine function and fit with unique stylish details, all designed for the competitive show rider in mind. All hunt coats are made with the finest lightweight European wool. Coat colors include solids, subtle plaids, classic pinstripes and multi-stripes, tweeds and more! My favorite part of these coats are the silk linings: patterns include polka dots, plaids, paisleys, leopard, tartan plaids, and other abstract designs (the Paisley pattern is my personal favorite!)
Equestrian young riders are always looking for the most fashionable and trendy show outfits. I must say that O’Shaughnessey Apparel has correctly identified trendy, yet keeps the colors and style very classic and feminine. The “A” Circuit riders can wear these styles by showing a trendy side without being too loud in the show ring.
The fancy details of these show shirts and hunt coats will make you stand out in the show ring.
Below are a few images from the Spring 2012 line.
