When the gates open for the second annual Deeridge Derby at the stunning Wellington, FL facility that is Deeridge Farms, Equiline will play a large role.
Equiline is proud to have been named the title sponsor of the event’s $5,000 USHJA National Junior/Amateur Hunter Derby, to be held on the beautiful grass field that is home to the Palm Beach Masters and the $220,000 Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Wellington.
The derby will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2018, and is sure to draw a large field of top junior and amateur riders. The top 12 will return for a second handy round to determine the winner. Last year’s champion was Elizabeth Reilly’s Illusion, ridden to victory by successful junior rider Augusta Iwasaki.
“We are thrilled to have Equiline as a partner for the second annual Deeridge Derby,” said Deeridge Derby President Katie Robinson. “Their incredible brand reputation and expertise lends itself very well to our exciting hunter-jumper competition at Deeridge Farms. We look forward to seeing old and new friends in Wellington for the event.”
Scott Stewart joined Equiline as part of its sponsored rider team in 2018 and introduced the new signature Scott Stewart saddle. He is a six-time winner of the World Champion Hunter Rider Professional Finals and a two-time champion of the WCHR Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular. The Scott Stewart saddle features all of Equiline’s premier technologies, coupled with traditional Italian craftsmanship and classic American hunter styling. The saddle is made with Italian calfskin leather and is Scott Stewart approved in its performance and cosmetic appearance. Stewart is already winning in the saddle; he rode to 10 championships during the first six weeks of the 2018 Winter Equestrian Festival.
With Stewart’s introduction, Equiline has entered unique territory as a European brand catering specifically to the American hunter market. In addition to the signature Scott Stewart saddle, Equiline also focuses on a complete apparel line designed for the hunter discipline in 2018—“The Hunter Dress Code.” With The Hunter Dress Code, Italian craftsmanship meets American tradition, with innovative technology. The collection makes its debut at Deeridge, a venue that exemplifies style and luxury and which will showcase elite hunter performances throughout the week.
“We are delighted that we can showcase our new Hunter Dress Code collection at the auspicious Deeridge Derby, among many of the best hunter riders in the country,” said Kelly Molinari, the U.S. distributor of Equiline. “Equiline is a visionary brand desiring to bring premium products to the world’s top riders, and the company recognizes that the hunter discipline is the foundation of most riding in America. Thus, we are focusing on producing the finest goods to aid performance for this riding population. With its stunning venue and top quality competition, we believe the Deeridge Derby is the perfect place to showcase our newest product line.”
Included in the collection, available year-round from Equiline, is the Hayley women’s show coat, which features Equiline’s innovative X-Cool fabric. Designed in the classic hunter style, it boasts three buttons and is double-vented. Machine washable, the Hayley is customizable and available in expanded sizes from 34-48. Complete the look with the brand new Victoria long-sleeved women’s show shirt, featuring cuff sleeves and proper cotton collars, and the Bice breech with X-Grip technology and Schoeller four-way stretch fabric. Swap the Hayley for the stunning MacKenzie shadbelly for the derby ring.
For men, the Hank show coat can be paired with the David men’s long-sleeved shirt and the Grafton breeches. The line will also feature the Logan and Betta belts, along with a hunter bridle, standing martingale, and a brand new fitted saddle pad.
“We are incredibly excited to expand our full array of product offerings in the Hunter market in the U.S.,” Molinari said.
