Australia has seen some great racehorses who made a big name for themselves in the racing world. Names like Phar Lap and Black Caviar are not just famous in Australia but they are well known in the whole world.
The country’s horse racing fans are greatly enthusiastic about the sport. Bet on Melbourne Cup 2020 becomes especially popular among the Aussies in October and November when “the race that stops the nation” comes near. It is the time when all the punters make their preparations for the Melbourne Cup by trying to find a place where they can get all the best offers and promotions. Many bookmakers start giving special offers for the prestigious race very early, and fans try to keep themselves updated about all these. Big brands often give very lucrative bonuses, but a punter should read all the terms and conditions before availing any offer.
1- Black Caviar
Black Caviar is the symbol of perfection who won everything before her. She remained undefeated in 25 races. Her supreme talent wasn’t apparent in the early stages of her career, despite her first seven victories. However, her fame soared after her performance in the Darley Classic of 2010 when she blew everyone away with her speed and stamina, claiming victory with absolute ease.
Black Caviar made so many records; however, the 2012 season was the standout for her. She went to England that year and earned plaudits for her performance at Royal Ascot. She outclassed a world-class horse in Moonlight Cloud in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.
2- Phar Lap
It looks unlikely that any horse could ever match the deeds and records of Phar Lap whose popularity greatly increased during the Great Depression. He became a source of motivation for Australians during that turbulent period.
Phar Lap didn’t make a lightning start to his racing career and finished last in the first race. But then he slowly improved his performances and started winning one race after another. He won the Craven Plate thrice, while also winning the Hill Stakes, W S Cox Plate, and Melbourne Stakes more than once. He won an incredible 37 of 51 races in his four years career. Phar Lap was later inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame and New Zealand Racing Hall of Fame.

In terms of dominating on the turf, there is no doubt that Winx is the best Australian horse. In a racing career spanning from May 2015 to April 2019, she won an incredible 33 consecutive races, which included 25 Grade I races. Her name was included in the Australian Racing Hall of Fame in 2017, thus becoming the third horse in history to win this honor while still in training.
Winx won four Cox Plates in her career, a feat that looks unlikely to be replicated by any other horse. She also claimed four Chipping Norton Stakes and George Ryder Stakes.
