This week we are featuring Charleston, SC local photographer Gregg Lambton-Carr and some equine portrait photography from the Charleston Trials Steeplechase 2013. Please view his gallery here: Gregg Lambton-Carr Photography. “I love the power and fluidity of the horses and how that translates into images,” stated Gregg from the Charleston Trials, 2013. Gregg is a highly personable South African (you will find him joking humorously about his heritage often when he meets someone for the first time). He has been a photographer for over 20 years, specializing in fashion, underwater, portraits, wedding, and lifestyle photography. He also has a passion for film and can shoot film as well as digital photography. A “wearer of many hats” as they say, Gregg is also the owner of (our favorite coffee shop in Charleston) City Lights Coffee shop downtown Charleston, a dedicated soccer coach, and shoots photography for several local publications including Charlie Magazine. We hope to see more of Gregg’s horse portraits and equestrian style photography later this year. From the Hyde Park Polo Invitational, Charleston Summer Classic, Charleston Cup & Charleston Trials, there are many equestrian events around Charleston, South Carolina.
We love the lines on this image. A unique style, and great details in portraying the emotion from the horse’s eye.
In both the color and black and white images, Gregg takes a sharp photo and portrays the details.
It was Gregg’s first time shooting a steeplechase, and he did an outstanding job– even capturing the right moment over the fences!
