Happy Valentine’s Day! Yes, you either Love it, or can’t stand it, I know… Many find that romantic relationships are usually fleeting, messy, and leave you feeling nauseated on February 14th. Especially, if you’ve just gone through a breakup, Valentine’s Day can feel even worse… But, instead of wallowing in negativity, break open that box of dark chocolate and remember the relationships that mean the most to you. Also, it’s just another reason to dress up and look pretty, right?!
I’ve always been a fan of pink on Valentine’s day (or any day for that matter), but this year it’s time to embrace the passion and contrast of red & white. After all, Taylor Swift continues to be an inspiration on many levels.
PS: If you don’t like Taylor, just stop reading this post. 😉
Soft curls and flower crowns are still in style, girls. So, if you feel like you’re in a fairytale, don’t hold back with your hairstyle. Put your hair half up, build up some messy curls, and be a princess for the day. Indulge in a new dress and pucker up with a new red lipstick too, this Valentine’s Day.
Love the one’s you’re with! Recognize your best friends on Valentine’s Day. After all, they’ve always being there through thick and thin (especially through all the boyfriends and breakups you’ve ever had!)
Sending lots of love and “hearts” to my best friend, Reyna Stein from the Hampton Classic Horse Show. Our best friendship consists of regular New York – Charleston – Florida commutes and plenty of pre-work and late night phone calls gabbing about horses, boys, pop culture, and more.
Not only do we have similar interests in common, but our styles are also very much the same. So, our “Galentine Photo Shoot” was a 100% must on the farm in Ocala, Florida.
As we were taking photos, I couldn’t get Taylor Swift out of my head…
“Are we out of the woods? Are we in the clear yet?! Are we in the clear yet?! Are we in the clear yet? In the clear yet? Good!”~Taylor Swift PS: if you haven’t watched the “Out Of The Woods” video by Taylor Swift, you must go see it here.
I also couldn’t stop thinking that the my one true love is grazing right in front of me in the pasture…
Annnnd out of the woods, there she is… My Valentine is my Dutch Warmblood Hadfield’s Minuet, a.k.a. “Minnie”.
That’s right, no halter, no bridle, and no saddle… Just snuggled up with my “Galentine” 🙂
Sometimes our best and longest relationships outside of our family are horses… They understand us, comfort us, never lie to us, and always make us feel extra special on the days we feel crummy. So, think you don’t have a Valentine? Think again. Get out there and snuggle up in the stall with that extra special loving equine. 😉 XXO
