Regarded as one of the most prominent spectacles in all the world, the Royal Ascot is a world renown flat race meeting for International Thoroughbreds of all ages. The world’s finest racehorses to compete for more than £7.3m in prize money. The Royal Ascot is also known for ubiquitous style and fashion with an ever prominent dress code that must be followed. Socks are a requirement for gentlemen, as well as a suit with jacket and trousers of the same color and pattern with a dress shirt and tie. If you’re in the Royal Enclosure, color is not allowed, suits of grey or black and a top hat are is allowed.
Women have strict rules to follow for the Royal Ascot attendance as well, dresses and skirts must be knee-length. All straps whether tops or dresses must be at least one inch thick. Jumpsuits are allowed as of 2018, yet always have straps. Halter neck, spaghetti straps, or strapless/ one-shoulder tops are not allowed at Ascot. Hats are more prevalent than fascinators. Actually, this year, they prohibited fascinators less than a brim of 4 inches. We recommend going with a ‘Hatinator’ by Christine A. Moore just to be safe!
Below we’d love to share with you some of our favorite instagram snapshots from this year’s event. We look forward to attending next year’s Royal Ascot with live features throughout the week. Cheers!
