Equestrian athletes and celebrities are surely to be spotted at some of these local favorite dining hot spots!
The Clubhouse – Located inside the Polo Club and owned by a WEF equestrian, this hotspot is decked out in equestrian style bringing a très chic vibe to Wellington. Chef Mathew Allen brings top-notch local flavor with inspired twists on classic dishes like the Seared Scallops served with pea risotto, mint, bacon vinaigrette. For desert, try the polo ball sundae!
Kaluz– One of the most upscale dining establishments in Wellington. For premium food, wine, cocktails and deserts, Kaluz offers indoor and outdoor dining featuring modern elegant design. Some of our favorites include the grilled artichoke appetizer, Key Lime Crab Salad, and Slow Roasted Prime Rib. For desert, the key lime pie is absolutely out of this world! Trust us, save room for the Key Lime Pie, you will thank us later 😉
Gabriel’s Cafe – a friendly mom n pop type spot in the village that has excellent breakfast / brunch. Dine outside and bring your pup, it’s pet friendly and has a great atmosphere. The daily specials do not disappoint, definitely order off of that menu!
Oli’s Fashion Cuisine – Using the finest local ingredients and flavors, Oli’s introduces delicious, fashionable cuisine that appeals to all the senses in a modern, sophisticated atmosphere. Some of our favorite dishes include the Ricotta Ravioli and Fish tacos.
Strathmore Bagel – Don’t be alarmed if there’s a line… it’s just part of the “vibe”, and usually goes by quickly. Trust us, it’s worth the wait… The iced coffee is out of this world (complete with real coffee ice cubes!) from bagels to complete breakfast and lunch, everything is fresh and really feels like you’re eating straight from New York.
Cilantro’s – for an authentic polo vibe, great coffee, and fresh empanadas, dine in at Cilantros in the heart of Wellington. It’s a hot spot for equestrians for pre- and post-ride bites. The fresh brewed coffee and ham and cheese empanadas are some of our favorites!
Taylor Made Cafe: If you’re vegan or gluten free and looking for another healthy option, this is the spot. Fresh pressed juices, Kambucha (on tap), fresh salads, delicious gourmet paninis, and baked treats- YUM!
Agliolio – This fresh pasta and wine bar offers a unique selection of “create your own” pasta and pizza options along with traditional Italian dishes. It’s a great place to dine in or take out for the whole family. Gluten free and vegan options are available.
Sushi Moto – From fresh sushi to savory stir-fry dishes, Sushi Moto offers a variety of pan-asian items in a contemporary atmosphere. Dine at the cosy sushi bar or grab a table inside or out. Be prepared during season this place can get real busy, but the wait goes fast.
JoJo’s Raw Bar – Craving fresh oysters and shrimp? This place is full of fun vibes whether you eat at the bar, inside, or dine out on the patio. Be sure to check out their daily specials and attend Trivia and Bingo Night for a fun night out with friends.
Franco’s Italian – Authentic and refined Italian cuisine featuring a decadent atmosphere with a bar & a covered, dog-friendly patio.
Chicken Salad Chick – For a quick healthy grab and go (or even drive-thru option) get a fresh chicken salad sandwich at Chicken Salad Chick. The sandwich and soup combo is excellent and the sugar cookie that comes with the meal is the perfect touch. PS: the “Sassy Scotty” is our favorite!
The Farm Stand – (On Site at WEF) Don’t forget to check out this glorious spot located at the Winter Equestrian Festival itself – on Pony Island – a.k.a Heaven! From asian-inspired dishes, gourmet coffee, organic selections, juice kitchen, this spot is full fresh, delicious, organic goodness. And, while you’re at it– there’s excellent shopping, and pop up yoga and events throughout the season.
