It’s spring, and we know what that means… Derby Season! It’s Kentucky Derby week, and then from there we head to the Preakness, Belmont, and then Summer racing leading up to the Breeders’ Cup! From Steeplechase season, Kentucky Derby, and more horse racing this summer, we’ve got our hands full for plenty of opportunities to wear the fabulous Christine A. Moore hats, hatinators, and fascinators!
This photoshoot took place at Middleton Place in Charleston, South Carolina. Middleton Place is a National Historic Landmark and home to America’s Oldest Landscaped Gardens. It covers 65-acres of centuries-old camellias that bloom in the winter months and azaleas in the springtime.
Modeling below is Alicia Butler from Miami, Florida. We showcase some of Christine A. Moore’s fabulous pieces from “Hatinator”, Fascinator, and Hat styles. In keeping the full outfit primarily the same throughout the shoot, we switched out the headpieces to give you different “look ideas” for different occasions.
The “Hatinator”: The Hat+ Fascinator! perfect for the gal who likes to run around and not worry about her hat staying in the “perfect place” it stays on securely with a headband. The coverage over the face is perfect for a sunny day, but you still get the “fascinator” look.
As you may know, it’s always known to rain at the Kentucky derby, so be sure to bring your Dubarry boots and Barbour jackets, both are classic pieces for wet weather days.
The miniature horses at Middleton Place are a perfect photoshoot distraction… We loved this little guy and his blue eye!
Next we have…
The Fascinator: fashionable, smart, and chic. It’s fashioned by a headband so you don’t have to worry about pinning it, or losing it to the wind! It’s perfect for both the younger lady and stylish-chic elder woman.
Yep, we’re obsessed… It’s One of our favorite fascinators: the Elizabeth by Christine A. Moore. As they say, green goes with everything, it’s like a leaf: any flower color goes perfectly with green!
This one is tres-chic with the Dubarry Galway River boots and the Ray Ban Aviator blue lenses…
Last but not least, we present…
The Hat: It’s big, bold, and totally “Derby”. Classic and timeless, the hat design by Christine A. Moore is extremely smart since there is an adjustable lining inside to help fit the hat just so. You will not have to worry about losing this hat to the wind either with this smart adjustment inside 😉
This bright pink and light pink sheer hat by Christine A. Moore screams “The Oaks” for the Kentucky Derby. If you are looking for something absolutely fabulous and a real show stopper, this is it, gals!
