Dappled Grey: Navy, & White Equestrian Style
Riding in Wellington, Florida during the Winter Equestrian Festival can consist of long, but very rewarding days in the beautiful Florida sunshine. It is absolutely necessary to wear riding apparel that includes SPF protection in west Palm Beach. Also, looking sharp on the show circuit is an absolute must. When you’re in the business of selling horses, everything must look exceptional, including the outfit. Recently, I got the Ariat ladies Sun Stopper 1/4 zip top in navy and white polka dot print. I’m IN LOVE! The lightweight pique knit textile is flexible and comfortable and has a breathable mesh underarm panelling to help you stay cool- but, the best part is you can’t even tell it’s there in the images!
I’m a huge promoter of coordinating with the color of your horse. Especially for sales videos, it’s critical to wear understating apparel to best accentuate the horse. If you’re caught wearing uncoordinated apparel, it will diminish the entire elegance of the horse and can be very distracting.
I paired the navy and white zip shirt with white breeches with a navy trim to keep the look classic and clean. A black leather belt goes well with black leather riding boots. This is a great look for any schooling day at the horse show. It’s neat and pulled together.
Can we just talk about how photogenic Joey, the horse, was during this fashion shoot? He’s one handsome and stylish horse. Owned by Chase Finizio, “Empire” competes in the equitation classes at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL. He’s best regarded as the “gentle giant” of the barn, measuring in at a near 18hands tall.
Remember to dress for success both in and out of the horse show ring. Equestrian style is everything from the right fitting tack, proper horse for the discipline, riding apparel, and accessories. Whether you’re looking for something long sleeve or short sleeve, country and stable has a wide selection of riding tops suited for any time of the year.
