Do you Love Summer as much as I do? Bright colors, fun prints, sunshine… AMAZING! If you find the right riding apparel, the hot weather can be bearable. I recently just found out about the cutest horse show riding shirts by Winning Couture. I always loved the idea of customizing your riding apparel. One of the reasons I decided to study fashion in college stemmed from dressing up at horse shows when I was a little girl. Lets face it, riding clothes are very traditional, so adding some fun trendy patterns and colors really gives you a sense of style in the show ring. Growing up riding in the pony hunters, my friends and I would always swoon over the latest fabrics of riding jackets and show shirts. It seemed as though quantities were always limited, and it was always tough to find the exact size jacket in the color we wanted. The Stable Cloth Collection is now a stylish solution that is perfect for the fashionista at the horse show. I also love how you can get away with wearing these show shirts out to lunch or dinner after riding (without looking too much like you just dismounted your horse).
As you can tell, I wore this shirt in a relaxed and comfortable style. I paired it with the Tailored Sportsman French Blue low rise breeches. The field boots I’m wearing are Ariat. The belt is a braided rein leather belt I got at a local tack store in Ocala, Florida. Mint greens, periwinkle blues and plaid prints remind me of a french country look. Step outside the box of your regular plain white riding shirt and navy riding jacket, and make it fun by customizing prints and patterns.
I had so much fun playing with the miniature horses at the Magnolia Gardens Plantation in Charleston, South Carolina. The perfect scenery for a summer fashion photo shoot, don’t you think?
This little pinto was the perfect prop!
I think the plaid cuffs give just the right touch of pattern to match the color of the breeches. The feminine tailored fit is designed with darting down the front of the shirt. I love to roll the sleeves after riding to give a more relaxed look. Remember when you are riding to always tuck in your shirt with a belt. An untucked sloppy look is not professional for riding at home or the show ring.
The collar or “choker” as some call it is lined with the same plaid print as the sleeve cuffs and inside the collar.
I would love to see this one monogrammed with navy blue initials. If I was showing in this shirt, I would definitely wear this shirt with a navy riding jacket.
Whether you are at the show, or out on the town– these chic equestrian shirts are functional and fashionable for a woman at any age. Remember: Don’t just buy your show shirt for the show ring, it’s much more effective to buy one you can wear out on the town with a pair of white or dark denim and a pair of heels. 😉
