Decorating for the Holiday season is one of those “must do’s” nowadays. Whether you’re willing to go all out, or keep it simple, we’ve got some great tips to help you decorate your table for an equestrian style Christmas season. We love incorporating vintage pieces of meaning, collector edition Holiday Style Breyer horses, silver equestrian accessories by Arthur Court, and more.
First, start with a nice holiday inspired neutral table runner. This one is ivory and gold with a sparkle gold trim. Sticking with metallics is a great choice during holiday time.
- Start with the center: I love starting from the center and then building from there. We took this horse bit cheese platter by Arthur Court and the horse bit 3 nut bowl and stacked them. Stacking is a great way to create different levels and interest to a table. Now, just because an item is called a “nut bowl” doesn’t necessarily mean it has to house nuts. In this case, we chose special treats like peppermint sticks, individual wrapped chocolate pieces and individual wrapped chocolate dunked Oreos (Santa’s Favorite)
2. Add your candlesticks: Lighting is important, not only is overhead lighting important, but interest lighting like candles or string lights to add a little bit of sparkle to your centerpiece. We chose these beautiful silver stirrup candlesticks by Arthur Court to coordinate with the centerpiece for an equestrian style holiday table. The rhinestone embezzled candles were found at Hobby Lobby – one can never go wrong shopping for table accessories at Hobby Lobby!
3. Add Figurines: The Breyer Horse Holiday Horse collection is a classic piece for Christmas time. This Breyer Holiday Horse is from 2014 and is named “Bayberry and Roses”. It adds a little bit of pizazz to the center piece, and it’s one of my favorite Breyers of all time…
4. There’s Never “too much” Sparkle: Whether you want to stick to just horses, or mix and match with other holiday figurines like these glittery Christmas Trees, remember different heights and “bling” add interest to the table. It doesn’t need to be in perfect harmony, just set it up to how it pleases your eye.
5. Keep it simple: If you don’t have lots of holiday collection, keep it simple and just use what you have. There’s no need to go overboard with accessories. Some of our other favorite holiday horses are these vintage by Patience Brewster part of the Kringles collection for Department56. Now Mackenzie Childs has a Patience Brewster Collection that can be viewed here.
6. Add garland: Spruce up the length of the table in some greenery with garland either lit or unlit, whichever you choose!
We hope you have a very happy, healthy, and blessed Christmas and Holiday season with lots of equestrian inspiration and style along the way. Feel free to share your favorite equestrian style holiday touches in the comments below!
